Whether you are considering steering your career in another direction, need a little help to organize your life, or perhaps a lot of help to organize your office, delegation and balance can go a long way.

Many entrepreneurs and health care specialists are highly focused on patient care, so they have little time to spend on expanding or organizing. I understand your industry and can help you make your goals more attainable.

I am Megan, a Virtual Administrative Assistant, specializing in administrative services for Health Professionals that are stretched far too thin.

Meet the 9 to 5 Megan, Prior to the Virtual World

At the youthful age of 17, I started out as a Physical Therapy Assistant and Receptionist and later found myself working as an Administrative Assistant in the Radiology Department of a local hospital while taking college courses to become a Medical Assistant. Upon graduation, with a diploma in hand and limited job prospects, I bounced around doing everything from Medical and Insurance Administration to In-home care. I even took Nursing Pre-Requisites in an effort to further my career before it began.

Atlas, I accepted a position in the “Float Pool” for a large multi-specialty medical group, which provided the opportunity to work closely with physicians and staff in a variety of specialty areas. Eventually, I partnered solely with a phenomenal Family and Sports Medicine Provider, while working closely with other providers on my team. Granted, I loved direct patient care, but I took on more administrative roles from Training, Vaccine Management, Prior Authorization Coordination and more.

A few years into this, something inside me changed. I was physically and emotionally drained, running in circles, never realizing any gain or finding balance. Changes had to be made. I had no idea where to begin, until that Friday evening I commuted home after a 10-hour shift swollen, sweaty, irritable, and 4 months pregnant with baby number 2. I came home to a mess, my son was freshly sunburned, homework hadn’t been touched, and I unwillingly handed the babysitter half my paycheck.

Needless to say, those few moments were life-changing.

I took a year off to raise my babies barefoot, be more involved in my kids lives, and try my hand at basic homesteading. My administrative skills definitely outdo my gardening skills!

Virtual Administrative Assistant

Certainly refreshed but missing the GO of a typical job, I looked for ways to fill my time and give me more recognition than the roles of Wife and Mommy. With over 10 years experience in the medical field, including front and back office, direct patient care, administration, and patient advocacy, I found myself freelancing on Upwork in 2015. Gaining momentum working with Physicians and Entrepreneurs, I quickly reached Top Rated Freelancers status.

I realized my practical 9 to 5 experience furnished me the tools, knowledge, experience, and ambition to help others in their attempt to keep up with constant changes, as well as those trying to simplify and diversify. Thus, Managed by Megan was born; I am here to help you achieve, virtually anywhere.

Just Me

In brief, I’m a wife to a very lucky man and mother of two very handsome little guys. In addition to running Entrepreneurship Endeavors for myself and husband’s construction business, we are slowly remodeling our 1898 farmhouse, chasing after an active 4-year-old, and learning new math skills from the 11-year-old.

I am especially fond of coffee, repurposing and refurbishing, summer weather, digging in the veggie garden, Nerf gun wars, and stepping on Legos!
